TRANSFERS: Here is where we update and track ownership of the property to determine who the appropriate assessee should be. Currently there is one full time Transfer Clerk to handle this function. This is accomplished by taking the deeds, removing the transferor’s name and adding the transferee’s name. The previous statement may indicate that this is a simple function, however, with all the different ways to hold title and the partial interest transfers that happen make this workload very cumbersome and complicated.
