What is the Assessor’s parcel number (APN)?

The Assessor’s parcel number is the identification numbers the Assessor assigns to a property so that he can locate it and assess it. Typically this number has three parts, the first three digits are the Assessor’s map book, the next two digits are the page, the next one is the block number and the final three identify the parcel on that page and block. For example: 029-022-041 is a parcel number. The "1" at the end means that there is one bill being generated.  This property is located in map book 29 page 2 block 2 and is parcel number 04.
