Renter's Assistance Eligibility
File a claim if:
You were one of the following on December 31, 2001:
  • 62 years of age or older;
  • Blind; or
  • Disabled; and
You meet all of the following requirements:
  • You paid $50 or more rent per month in 2001;
  • You meet the total household income requirement for 2001 (call the number below to find out) and
  • You are a United States citizen, a designated alien, or qualified alien, when you filed your claim.

You can call the Franchise Tax Board at (800) 338-0505, or visit their website, which is located at www.ftb.ca.gov.

Homeowner's Assistance Eligibility

  • You owned and lived in your own home on December 31, 2001;
  • You meet the total household income requirement for 2001 (call the number above to find out) and
  • You are a United States citizen, a designated alien, or qualified alien when you filed your claim.
